Toyota Ghana unveils new model of cars on the Ghanaian automobile market

The output is:Toyota Ghana Limited has launched three new models as the latest additions to Toyota vehicles on the Ghanaian automobile market.

These models include the Toyota Vitz, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and Toyota Land Cruiser 250 Prado.

In a sideline discussion with the media, Kohji Yanaka, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Ghana Limited, unveiled the cars at its Accra branch and emphasized how timely the new car models were introduced to meet consumer demands.

According to him, the new models that have been put on the market will increase consumer traffic and help the company increase its market share in the automotive sector.

“We just launched the all-new generation of the Prado, which is one of our flagship models. The Vitz is one of our newest A-segment entry car models, and historically, Toyota has not been very strong in this Ghanaian market. So, with this model and the SUV segment, together with our Urban Cruiser, we intend to maintain our share, expand our share, and also cut through the historically not-too-strong passenger segment as well.

“Toyota has been the number one brand for 8 consecutive years with around 30% market share. 30% of the market compared in the world is a very high market share, and together with Nissan, we dominate more than half of the market. Together with these three new models, we expect to expand even more. 38-40%, that is fair enough. If things change, I think this year it might be possible. Kohji Yanaka said.

Head of Sales Operations at Toyota Ghana Limited, Andrew Lamptey, on his part, stressed that customers who purchase the new models of vehicles unveiled will have value for money.

He also added that special arrangements will be made for anyone who wants to purchase the Toyota new models on an installment payment basis.

“Affordability is relative. Unfortunately, this year we have seen some sharp depreciation of the cedi. This is a fact, so it kind of affects the price regularly. But for the work this vehicle does for you, it is indeed money worth spending. It may come at a high price, but we believe that the price and the value that these cars give you are worth it.

“At this event, we brought in our financial partners, who are more than ready to support such payment plans. So, you can have a repayment plan of between one year. So, you can just come; we will sit down, invite our financial partners, and we can work out something for you,” he stated.

For contemporary buyers, the all-new Toyota Vitz is intended to provide low operating costs and affordability while fusing fashionable styling with useful functionality. This A-segment passenger car puts comfort, safety, and fuel economy first, making it perfect for young professionals, beginning drivers, and urban commercial drivers. 

The Vitz has a fairly large 295L cargo capacity in spite of its small size. Additionally, it has intelligent connectivity features, including voice commands, USB, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth.

The Urban Cruiser offers superior handling and front-wheel drive (FWD) capability, making it adept at navigating various terrains.

The new Toyota Land Cruiser 250 Prado is the pinnacle of performance, luxury, and power in a big SUV. A UV-cut sun and moon roof, leather seat coverings, dual-zone automatic front and back air conditioning, controlled driver and passenger seat heaters, electronic power steering, and an illuminated entry system are just a few of the cutting-edge amenities that come with this model.

It features a 12.3-inch touchscreen navigation system, audio, phone, and voice recognition steering controls, and seamless USB and HDMI connectivity. Power door locks, an immobilizer, jam-protected power windows, and a longer wheelbase for improved stability are all features that prioritize safety.
